RISE-UP Students Learn About Structure Dynamics During their Summer Undergraduate Research Experience

As part of the 2021 RISE-UP summer undergraduate research experience course,
students Carlos Casillas, Carolyn Romero, Gina Rodríguez, and Gilberto Camacho
learned about rehabilitation techniques for stilt houses on slopes in Puerto Rico. The
team studied the effects of short-column defects on sloped stilt houses using Pushover
and Time History Analyses and implemented techniques for the seismic rehabilitation of
a typical structure. Dr. Luis Montejo acted as their mentor.
