Program Description:

RISE-UP is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on resilient and sustainable infrastructure. This program brings together  in a series of integrated courses to  of three Campuses of the University of Puerto Rico: Rio Piedras, Ponce and Mayaguez.  It provides students with knowledge and opportunities regarding the use of Environmental Design tools to address future challenges to Puerto Rico’s infrastructure , preparing them to assist in the prevention, recovery efforts, and mitigation of past and future environmental challenges impacting the Puerto Rican infrastructure.

This Minor degree requires of fifteen (15) credits/units (list of courses can be seen here), that include a professional/research summer internship.

Application requirements:
  1. To be an active student of the Environmental Design program at the School of Architecture (UPR-RP).
  2. To have a GPA of 2.75 or above.
  3. To have completed or to be currently enrolled in ARQU-3134.
  4. To have completed 50%  or less of the credits required for the Main Concentration (Environmental Design).
  5. To fill out the RISE-UP application form (https://riseup.upr.edu/application/)
