Participating of PBL

Applying to PBL

To apply to PBL you have to send before October 17th, 2022 , to the email address humberto.cavallin1@upr.edu the following:

  • One-page statement of purpose “what are their learning goals and why they should be considered for the “AEC Global Teamwork program.”  
  • CV with an emphasis on discipline background knowledge (courses and projects) and technology (discipline analysis tools, and applications such as – Revit, Grasshopper, Dynamo, Photoshop, etc.). 
           

The selection criteria are:

  1. Discipline specific competence 
  2. Motivation i.e. learning goals 
  3. Revit modeling skills  
  4. Commitment to the course in terms of time and workload.

IMPORTANT DATES

2022

September – November 8th – interview student candidates

November 14th – official invitation of students
December – coaching each invited student – online technology onboarding, setting-up, and testing of VR student equipment and cloud applications provided by the PBL Lab such as – BIM360, IrisVR Prospect, MeetinVR, etc. in preparation for a successful launch of the 30th AEC Global Teamwork in January

2023

January 12 – official kick-off cyber event details TBD
January 12-14-15-16 – Team building cyber workshop – 8am-8PM – all students are required to participate online – details TBD
March 17 Cyber Team presentation – Winter Concept Development
May 11-12 – Special events & Final AEC project presentation in-person at Stanford

Regular Class time between January – May
Every Friday – class meets online – 12:14-4:20 PM PST
ALL students will participate online

There will be a Spring break between March 18-31 – when there will be no formal Friday class and student teams interact informally
